BBC has four maps showing the hypothesized effect of temperature change, population growth, and industrialization on future global water demand. The maps show the availability of water per person, per year with red shading highlighting areas of extreme stress. The four maps cover water stress from 1961-1990, 2020, 2050 and 2070. The maps were created by Martina Floerke and colleagues at the University of Kassel in Germany.
