In addition to NORAD and Google Maps Santa Claus tracking, you can now use the European’s Space Agency’s updated Sentinel App to track Father Christmas as he travels around the world, delivering presents.
The Sentinel app is available for both iOS and Android devices and lets users explore the orbit and details about its Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, and Sentinel-3 satellites. Users can track the real-time locations of each satellite and access news and background information.
There are additional future satellite launches are planned as part of the European Commission’s Copernicus environmental monitoring program.
Per the ESA:
“Sentinel-1 is a polar-orbiting, all-weather, day-and-night radar imaging mission for land and ocean services.
Sentinel-2 is a polar-orbiting, multispectral high-resolution imaging mission for land monitoring to provide, for example, imagery of vegetation, soil and water cover, inland waterways and coastal areas.
Sentinel-3 is a multi-instrument mission to measure sea-surface topography, sea- and land-surface temperature, ocean colour and land colour with high-end accuracy and reliability.”
The tracker will start functioning once Santa Claus starts his Christmas journey around the world.
